I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice world title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
